Meet the Owner

“Growing up in Raleigh NC, as much as I loved it, I knew that there were greater things I was meant for than what my hometown had to offer. As a child I was nicknamed “Hollywood” when I wore my giant sunglasses and dressed up like a movie star.  I decided at a very young age that fashion was my thing.  Even before I could talk I demanded to pick out my outfits.  By the time I was about 8 years old, I knew what I wanted to be – a fashion designer.  As an 8-year-old, unamused with my shopping experience at the mall, I insisted that my mom teach me how to sew so that I could make the clothes I dreamed of wearing that I couldn’t find in stores.  Having a built-in creativity I inherited and learned from my dad, a drive and determination to do and be anything I want fueled by my mom, and a love for all things fashionable I gained from my sister, I followed my dreams of fashion to Los Angeles, the land of diversity, beaches, and perfect weather where dreams become a reality.  I divorced a husband that was bringing me down and moved to Los Angeles in 2008 with little more than a suitcase, my sewing machine, and a dream.  My nearly unmatched determination landed me my first job in my industry as an Assistant Designer within 2 weeks of being in L.A.  Since then my dreams have grown and flourished into a reality I live out today.  I am L.Alien.”
